Of course, the Gentry boys, including Deck, were all involved in helping Stone and I loved just having them around with all their children! They were such a great support system for Stone. Their honesty with each other was refreshing. His unexpected connection with Evie was perfection since she was also estranged from her twin brother and they just seemed to get each other. Stone was reemerging into real life and handling himself so unbelievably well. Like I said, this was a slow, steady read. But with so much hurt in the past, it was especially hard for Conway to move on from it. They needed to reconnect and start building their brotherly relationship again. Their estrangement left me bitter and frustrated. And as much as he changed, imagine my surprise when finding out Conway changed in a much bigger way than I ever expected!! It really threw me for a loop because I had favored Con before this and now it was Stone! That's due to some great writing! Seriously, I could not believe the change in him. Stone, was released from prison after four years, and was a completely changed man. This is what was going through my head the entire time I was reading this book."slow and steady wins the race, slow and steady wins the race, slow and steady wins the race, etc., etc., etc."

(I never knew he could be so sweet! *SWOON*)Īnd if, like me, you're anxious to see what happens between Stone & Con - all I'm going to say is that you're gonna be surprised! Plus, we get to check in with all the other #Gentry Boys and their families - and there are a few surprises there, too!

And what a follow-up it was! Stone and Evie were absolutely perfect for each other, and it was awesome to see Stone in love. Brent for not keeping us waiting too long after that epic ending of CROSS. God, this book was phenomenal! Before I say anything else, I just want to say THANK YOU to Ms. All that changes though when he meets Evie. It's all he has left anyway since no self-respecting woman wants to be with an ex con. But today he gets released - and the only thing he wants to do is find his brother & explain what really happened the day that stole the love of Con's life away forever. It's been 4 long years since Stone made one of the biggest mistakes of his life and was sentenced to prison.
